Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, the government of any states have decided to shut the public places like malls, theatres, parks and swimming pools. Since yesterday, the cinema halls in the parts of Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu, Karnataka and Kerala will remain closed till March 31 as per orders. However, this has adversely affected the box office numbers of the latest outings ‘Angrezi Medium’ and ‘Baaghi 3’.
According to the latest update of BoxofficeIndia.com, the collections of Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan starrer ‘Angrezi Medium’ dropped to Rs. 2.75 crore nett which is a 20-25% drop.The total two-day collection of the film is Rs. 6.50 crore nett plus which is poor. The numbers will fall even further as more states are likely to shut down theatres. For now, the business of the film is coming from Gurgaon and Noida and some parts of UP. The multiplexes in the bigger cities of UP are adding well to the film.
On the other hand, the Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Baaghi 3’ also dropped by 20% as it collected around Rs.1.75 crore nett on Saturday. The overall collections of the film are Rs.91 crore nett plus in nine days. However the Ahmed Khan directorial will also suffer as cinema halls will be shut now in some states. The film is good in UP and luckily that state will be open on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Irrfan Khan starrer comedy-drama ‘Angrezi Medium’ has managed to collected Rs 3.85 crore on its opening day despite the coronavirus pandemic. While Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor’s action drama reached a total of Rs.91 crore nett plus in nine days.
