The intro video for Spawn in Mortal Kombat 11, features Todd McFarlane’s depraved villain, Violator.
A famous member of Spawn’s rogues gallery, Violator, made a gory appearance in Spawn’s Mortal Kombat 11 intro video and will be appearing in the game itself, though likely not in the way that fans expect.
On Twitter, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane shared the character’s intro video, which shows Spawn engaging in a preamble with longtime Mortal Kombat protagonist Sonya Blade. Spawn puts down a stake bearing the decapitated head of Violator, or more specifically, his clown form.
Violator made his first appearance in 1992’s Spawn #2. A large and monstrous demon who sometimes appears in the form of a short, slovenly clown. He was responsible for the training of all Hellspawn, such as Al Simmons. After Spawn began to rebel against his lot as an agent of Hell, Violator became Spawn’s arch-nemesis.

Spawn will be the last of the six DLC characters included in Mortal Kombat 11′s first DLC pack, which included established Mortal Kombat characters Nightwolf, Sindel and Shang Tsung alongside guest stars, the Terminator and the Joker. Spawn is voiced in the game by Keith David, who also happened to be the voice of the demonic anti-hero in Todd McFarlane’s Spawn.
Developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows and Google Stadia. The DLC fighter Spawn joins the roster on March 24, but players who buy the Kombat Pack DLC will be able to play as Spawn on March 17.
