The Indian markets staged some recovery after reopen but were highly volatile. The S&P BSE Sensex was trading around the 32,750 levels after hitting the lows of 29,388 intra-day. The broader Nity50 index also climbed off the lows of 8,555, down over 10 per cent, after which trading was halted for 45 minutes. The index was hovering around 9,600 levels.
Sun Pharma (up over 5%), HDFC (up 4%) and Bharti Airtel (up 2%) were the top gainers in the Sensex pack. On the other hand, Nestle (down 7%) and Asian Paints (down 6%) dragged the indices.
