Ayushmann Khurrana has managed to keep up with his momentum at the box office by delivering another stunning performance in ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan‘. The comedy-drama has managed to excel at the box office as it earned Rs 11 crore, taking its total to a staggering figure of Rs 30.75 crore from its first weekend itself.
The Box Office India report also suggests that bigger numbers on Saturday and Sunday would have helped the film consolidate its grip at the box office furthermore. ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ has done will in Delhi, East Punjab and Rajasthan. Generally North has done well and some parts of Rajasthan behave like North which has probably enabled that circuit to do well as well.
The film which opened at Rs 9 crore has gone on to earn Rs 10.75 crore on Saturday and with Rs 30.75 crore looks adamant to excel in the domestic circuit. The Hitesh Kewalya directorial also stars Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao in pivotal roles have also managed to put their best foot forward.
‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ which revolves around Ayushmann and Jitendra’s romance but what grabbed everyone’s attention was their kiss. Talking about it in an exclusive interaction with ETimes, Ayushmann said, “We had three takes if I remember. Awkward in the sense, it was different. I will not say awkward but is different. As an actor, you should be prepared for everything, as I said, but it is different for sure while you kiss a guy and but all for the film. I think the bigger idea was to just put out that message and normalize the kiss between the same genders to as many people as possible. And that’s what he did. The kiss was required in the film. Otherwise, it would be a very back footed attempt on homosexuality.”
