BAN 33 for 1 at the end of Powerplay

Bangladesh are able to rotate the strike with ease against the Indian bowlers. Rajeshwari Gayakwad replaced Deepti Sharma at one end after the latter went expensive in her 2nd over. Shikha Pandey has already finished her 3 overs. Poonam Yadav, who has a great record against Bangladesh is yet to get an over.

Murshida Khatun attacks Deepti Sharma

India had a great start with the new ball as they gave away just 5 runs in the first over and picked up a wicket but Murshida Khatun took Deepti Sharma to the cleaners in the off-spinner’s second over, striking her for 3 boundaries to collect 14 runs off the over. Bangladesh begin the run chase

Fahima Khatun and Shamima Sultana have taken the crease to begin the 143 run chase. Deepti Sharma to begin the proceedings with the new ball for India.

Jemimah says 142 decent total for India

Jemimah: It’s a decent total, but not a winning score. It’s a fighting total, and the kind of bowling we have, we should put up a fight. It’s a good wicket. The outfield is quick, but while bowling we need to get it at the right spots and get the basics right. Looking at her (Shafali) you can’t make out she is 15. She is fearless, and I looked like the junior in front of her. Dot balls will be key, as will be quick wickets; that will put pressure on the Bangladesh batters.

Drama in last over

Bangladesh went for an LBW review on the 2nd delivery of the last over after Jahanara’s yorker hit Veda’s backfoot but lost the review then Shikha Pandey was dropped on the next delivery. There was a run-out chance later after a direct hit but Shikha escaped it. Just 5 runs in the last over which gives India 142 in 20 overs. India (142/6 in 20 overs) vs Bangladesh in Perth. Shafali (39), Panna (2/25), Salma (2/25)

Veda Krishnamurthy attacks

15 runs off the 18th over as Veda Krishnamurthy hits 3 boundaries in the over. The over has helped India move towards a modest total. The way they started out, it looked like they would easily get to 140-150 but quick wickets hurt them badly. Veda would look to hit some big shots in the remaining two overs to take India past 140.

Salma Khatun to Sharma, 1 run. One of these two batters is out and the umpires are checking which one will depart as they both were running to the same end as Veda kept running to complete a second run. Deepti dived to get in but she will be the one to depart.

Salma Khatun to Richa Ghosh, out Caught by Nahida Akter. Richa went for a slog-sweep but could send it over the fence as she got caught at the long-on boundary line. IND (115 for 5 in 16.2 overs) vs BAN in Perth. Deepti (10*)

Back-to-back boundaries for India

Fahima Khatun to Richa Ghosh, FOUR. It was short outside off and Richa cuts through backward point for four. Fahima bowls similar kind of delivery again, offering width to Richa, and the batter cuts it away again for another boundary.

IND vs BAN Live: Rodrigues run-out

Jahanara Alam to Rodrigues, out Rodrigues Run Out!! A crucial wicket for Bangladesh as Rodrigues was playing beautifully. Rodrigues played it to the backward point and went off for a single but Nahida Akter collects it quickly to throw it back to the keeper. Umpire sends it upstairs and the replays show the Indian missed it by quite some margin. IND (92 for 4 in 13.2 overs) vs BAN in Perth. Deepti (7*)

IND for 91 for 3 after 13 overs

Fahima Khatun to Deepti Sharma. Huge caught behind appeal from the keeper as it beats the outside edge of the batswoman but the umpire seemed unmoved. India were on the top in the first 6 overs but they have really slowed down after Shafali’s wicket.

INDIA: First six overs: 54 for 2

Next six overs: 33 for 1

Panna Ghosh to Kaur, out Caught by Rumana Ahmed! Big wicket for Bangladesh. Harmanpreet Kaur yet again fails to get some runs in this World Cup. It was way outside off and Kaur played it to the backward point where the fielder took an easy catch. Kaur just gifted her wicket playing this shot on the lose delivery. IND (78 for 3 in 10 overs) vs BAN in Perth. Rodrigues (28*)

IND vs BAN Live: Poor fielding from Bangladesh

Panna Ghosh to Rodrigues, FOUR. Driven to the long-on where a fielder was present but Rumana was on her knee to collect the ball but a misfield resulted in four runs for India.

Panna Ghosh to Shafali Verma, out Caught by Shamima Sultana! Shafali Verma departs after her cameo of 17-ball 39. She wanted to hit this one again over the fence but could not get the distance. Shamima Sultana fumbles but takes the catch in the 3rd attempt.

IND (53 for 1 in 5.3 overs) vs BAN in Perth. Rodrigues (11*)

IND vs BAN: 50 up for India in the 6th over

SIX! Another six! She has now hit 4 in this innings. Shafali Verma is taking the attack to the Bangladesh bowlers. It’s a delight to watch her bat. With this six, India have gone past the 50-run mark in the 6th over. Solid start this for India!

WICKET! Taniya Bhatia departs for 2

WICKET! Taniya Bhati departs for 2. She is stumped by Salma Khatun. The Bangladesh off-spinner strikes in her first over. It was unnecessary from Taniya, considering Shafali was going great guns at the other end.

Jemimah Rodrigues is the new batter for India. She joins Shafali in the middle.

Shefali Verma gets going with a SIX!

SIX! Shefali Verma has made her intentions clear. After impressing in the opener against Australia, the teenager gets going with a six to the cover boundary. Jahanara Alam, the Bangladesh new-ball bowler, kept Taniya Bhatia quiet with a probing line but Shefali was in no mood to hold back. 8 runs from the 1st over.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have brought in spinner Salma Khatun into the attack as early as the 2nd over.
