There are hopes the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus in China is slowing after local authorities reported a sharp decline in the number of new cases.
There were 31 new cases confirmed outside the epicentre of the outbreak which is the lowest figure of new infections since the commission began compiling data.
Further concerns emerged over how far the virus spread and the World Health Organisation warned the window to contain the virus is rapidly closing.
South Korea announced a public health emergency after the country recorded an eight-fold jump in four days with the number of coronavirus cases rising to more 430 including two more deaths.
