Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks marked his return to the regular games after the All-Star break on Friday, with a boom.
Doncic delivers on his name
With 4 minutes left in the first quarter, the star player made everyone aware of how efficient he is
In a video that showed Doncic’s smooth play, he arrives at the three-point line and breaks out an impressive behind-the-back dribble move. He then turns it into a very smooth step-back 3-pointer. One can hear the audience drooling over the make.
Doncic had 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, leading Dallas to the victory. He shattered a record while doing so.
Doncic has led the Mavs to become the most efficient offense in the NBA during the 2019-20 season in just his sophomore campaign. Alongside co-star Kristaps Porzingis — a former one-time All-Star with the New York Knicks — Doncic and Dallas post a 116.5 offensive rating (better than second-place Houston Rockets by nearly three points).

Luka Doncic, along with his fancy footwork, has the Mavs vying for a spot in the loaded Western Conference playoff field. At 33-22, Dallas currently possesses the sixth seed in the west.
Luka Doncic: NBA run
After dropping 33 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists against the Sacramento Kings before the break, Doncic followed that up with 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in Friday’s 122-106 win.
In only his second season, Luka Doncic has become a real contender in the MVP race averaging 28.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game while shooting 46.5 per cent from the field and 32.3 per cent from deep.
Friday’s win is a great start to the second half of the NBA season, especially since the Mavs seek to make the postseason for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
If he manages to win the award this season, he would be the youngest player to win the MVP. Derrick Rose won the award in 2012 at the age of 22. Doncic still has two years before he could break the record
