Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan Movie Review : Ayushmann and Jitendra steal the show
Although the collection is good but they came on the eve of Mahashivratri which takes the shine off the collections as real value goes down towards the Rs 7 crore nett range.
The report also stated that the collections are pretty much in the range of past Ayushmann Khurrana starrers like ‘Bala’ and ‘Dream Girl’ which were Rs 9.32 crore and Rs 9.43 crore nett respectively.
The film becomes the third highest opening day for and Ayushmann Khurana starrer but the film was actually expected to have its first double digit opening day due to Mahashivratri.
‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ has done well in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and pretty well in East Punjab while other circuits are just decent but is has managed the third best opening day of 2020 after Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior’ and Kartik Aaryan-Sara Ali Khan starrer ‘Love Aaj Kal’.
Elaborating further, the report added that it’s a healthy first day number and if we take real value as Rs 7 crore nett and the film can show good Saturday growth from the real value it will be set for a good weekend of Rs 30 crore nett plus which is a good result for the film.
The film has been receiving positive response from all quarters and it recently created waves after American President Donald Trump lauded the Bollywood gay rom-com ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ on Friday.
President Trump’s praise for the film came in the wake of a tweet posted by human rights campaigner and LGBTQ+ activist Peter Tatchell’s social media post praising the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer.
“A new #Bollywood rom-com featuring a gay romance is hoping to win over older people, following the decriminalisation of homosexuality. Hurrah!” tweeted @PeterTatchell. To this, @realDonaldTrump tweeted: “Great!”
