In Singapore, a woman who was first admitted to hospital for dengue fever before she was found to have COVID-19, has been confirmed to be infected with both. The Health Ministry confirmed that hers was a case of co-infection, but stressed that it is an extremely unique occurrence and the only known case in Singapore so far. It also clarified that dengue does not develop into COVID-19. For those with a fever or headache, the test for COVID-19 is often carried out alongside other tests, because these symptoms are also common to regular pneumonia, dengue or flu.
