There have been a ton of leaks and rumors surrounding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s impending Battle Royale mode, which is reportedly titled Warzone, none of which have, as of this writing, been confirmed by developer Infinity Ward.

The latest report related to Call of Duty: Warzone comes courtesy of Video Games Chronicle, who are claiming that the Battle Royale expansion will be released in the next few weeks, barring any delays, and they’re predicting a release date of Tuesday, March 10.

Last week, several reports seemed to suggest that Call of Duty: Warzone was going to be released tomorrow, February 18. But, as of this writing, Infinity Ward hasn’t teased anything regarding a Battle Royale mode, which makes it seem unlikely that it’s going to be released within the next 24 hours.

Furthermore, when Warzone does get released, it’ll be free to play, much like Apex Legends and Fortnite, meaning that you won’t need to own the base version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to jump into the action.

Recently, a data-miner uncovered all of Warzone’s daily and weekly challenges, which is where the February 18 release date rumor started. In total, there are over 200 challenges that seem to be tied into Modern Warfare’s second season, which began last week.

200 does seem to be the magic number for Warzone, as its Battle Royale mode will be capable of hosting up to 200 players per match, as players can jump in solo, as part of a duo, or in a squad of up to four players. So, even though the total player count will be doubled, it’ll still resemble the traditional BR solo, duo, and squad options.

Again, it’s worth noting that none of this has been confirmed by Activision or Infinity Ward, but all signs seem to point towards the Battle Royale expansion being released soon. So, don’t be surprised to see the developers confirm and tease the mode within the next couple of weeks.

One big sign that the Battle Royale expansion is coming soon is that Activision is taking action against YouTubers and Twitter users who leak information regarding the upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone. Of course, if there was nothing to the leakes, Activision likely wouldn’t feel the need to take action against the people providing the information to the public.

Barring a delay, it looks like Call of Duty: Warzone will be available to download sometime next month, and as previously mentioned, it’ll be free to play like Fortnite and Apex Legends.
